Why do we come here?

A lot of people asked me about the word klatchnikim in this stip. The coffee shop invasion of the early 90s was in full swing, and since in Charleston these shops were dependably filled with the same people, I figured they constituted a genuine klatch. A member of a klatch is of course, a klatchnik, plural klatchnikim. Everyone in South Carolina speaks Yiddish, right?
